Pre-sales questions:

Before purchasing a sub for AwoRewards, please allow me to ask:

1. Intending to use it with HikaShop, can you positively confirm it works with HikaShop Business v4.1.0 (= currently the latest version)?

(I see here "Versions: 1.5.x and up", but I also saw e.g. for AwoCoupon "Compatible with ... Hikashop 1.5.x, 1.6.x, 2.x, 3.x". So, just to make sure.)

2. In the documentation I see a lot of references to "points". Does AwoRewards integrate with HikaShop's "userpoints" (which is in use on the site in question), or would one need to maintain two separate/different point systems?

3. I read that AwoRewards can work without AwoCoupon; yet I see numerous references to it in the docs. Is there a significant trade-off or loss in functionality if AwoCoupon is not in use?

Actually both AwoCoupon and AwoRewards are compatible with the latest version of Hikashop, documentation updated.

Unfortunately, it is not compatible with Hikashop userpoints, it has its own points system, or you could convert to a coupon or to use Altauserpoints.

Just the coupon functionality of AwoCoupon.  Everywhere AwoCoupon is used, you can select a Hikashop coupon, except for invitation coupon, this requires a coupon template, AwoCoupon.

Re 2.: Too bad it's not compatible with HikaShop userpoints as (a) it's already part of the HikaShop package and, albeit basic, the recommended/preferred points system there, and (b) AltaUP isn't documented and supported too well, obviously.

Perhaps something for you to mull over for a future version...

So, for starters, "convert to coupon" may be it, as you say.

Re 3.: This may change at some point in the future but, at present, it appears that my client won't need the extra functionality of AwoCoupon (sorry!).

So, we'd want to base it on HikaShop coupons, I guess. From your docs and this example (which is pretty much what we want) I take it that...

- we'd create a "template" coupon in HikaShop (e.g. "REFERRAL"), which we'd then choose in "Coupon Payout",

- and, based on this, AwoRewards will generate "personalised" coupons.

Is this correct?

So, for a classic "referral with invitation" case as in this example, will it work with HikaShop coupons, yes or no?

If no, how else is it supposed to work without AwoCoupon, AUP, or two separate/different points systems in the same shop?

Sorry for all the questions... just want to make sure before deciding... and with the above clarified I should be able to do so! ;)

5. This example gives the sponsor (= referrer) a reward once the friend registers on the site. Instead, to avoid "abuse", we'd want this to happen once the friend places an order instead - something which I reckon is possible with the respective "Rule Type" setting - and that order is not only "created" (= unpaid) but definitely "confirmed" (= paid).

Possible?

The coupon template in the invitation form (step 1) will not work with Hikashop coupons.  The rest of the steps will work with Hikashop coupons.

Hmmm... seems rather complicated then...

Let's see if I'm getting it right. In a nutshell:

a. AwoRewards (AR) is not compatible with HikaShop (HS) "userpoints" plugin to utilise points for rewards. Instead, AltaUserPoints would be required.

b. AR is not compatible with HS coupons for sponsors' invitations of friends. Instead, AwoCoupon would be required.

Is this correct?

If "yes", any plans for making AR - in the near future - better integrated with either HS "userpoints" or HS coupons? Otherwise it's obviously major hassle/cost to "convert" a site already utilising those tools coming with HS to make it working with AR.

However, and since it's unknown when then next update will come (understandably!), I've spent some time today replacing HS "userpoints" with AUP on the site.

Means, I guess I'll purchase AR soon, then see how it'll go with AUP points as rewards.
