Get free product I choose with minimum order?

Hi Seyi!

First, thanks for the great work. Awocoupon is easily one of the best Addons for VM there is. So thanks for the constant work and update!

Now to my problem: I dunno how to set up a coupon that gives my customer a certain product when the shop for let's say 50€. I don't want them to choose but to add a certain product. They can buy whatever they want.
I feel stupid for asking such a simple question but thanks a lot in advance!

Hello,

Are you saying after a customer purchases 50 euros worth of product, you want a specific product added to their cart for free automatically?

You can do this with a buy x get y coupon:

Function: buy x get y
Value: 100%
Maximum discount qty: 1
Buy X:
    Number: 1
    Type: Product (Exclude)
    Select: the free product
Get Y:
    Automatically add get y product: check
    Number: 1
    Type: Product (include)
    Product: the free product

That should do it.

Unfortunately not. I tried it and it added 7 of those products. I don't know why 7 (Raspberry Beret)

At value I set "highest value" "percentage" "100"
Minimum order 50 (everywhere)
Rest as you wrote. Any ideas?
My AWOCoupon is in german. Is there a way to switch to English just for AC?

Hello,

Dont think you can switch languages just for a specific component, would have to do a global switch.

The maximum discount qty is the issue:

Set that to 1.

Thanks that solved it. It's not obvious in German. Should maybe translated in a different way. There are a few options that make only sense when I read the english equivalent.

Hello,

can a random product out of a selected category be placed in the cart automatically after adding the coupon code?
Our customers get a free mask if they purchase 150 euros or more. https://www.obeliskfashion.be/nl/mondmaskers
Now i configured allready with the tutorial here above it works but customers are not notified that they may add a mask for free if they purchased €150.

Apperently it works, but not immediately after adding the coupon code, but when i refresh a random product is added! NICE!!!

Hi, thank you for this post, as it helped me create what I needed.

However, I have a small problem, I have created an automatic "BUY X GET Y" coupon that gives a product worth € 9.95 upon reaching € 39.90.

At first check everything seems to work correctly but some customers have already found a small bug (I don't know if it is a bug) and have already exploited it.

In practice, if in the cart I reach the total of € 39.90 the system "correctly" inserts the FREE PRODUCT (price € 9.95) in the cart and applies the coupon of the same value, that is € 9.95.

The problem arises if a product costing no more than € 9 is removed from the cart. The system continues to apply the discount coupon of € 9.95, I believe, counting the free product that has been inserted into the total amount.

I hope I have made you understand what the problem is.

Products in the cart:
PRODUCT A (price € 35)
PRODUCT B (price € 10)

The system adds:
FREE PRODUCT (price € 9.95)
FREE COUPON - € 9.95

Then I delete PRODUCT B from the cart

This is the final situation of my cart:

PRODUCT A (price € 35)
FREE PRODUCT (price € 9.95)
FREE COUPON - € 9.95

So in the end the customer only entered a € 35 product but received a free product.

I'm using Virtueplanet's One Page Cart Plugin.
These are the configurations of the BUY X GET Y Coupon:

Coupon Details
Value: Percent 100

Optional Fields
Individual use only: YES
Minimum Order Total: 39.90 Overall
Maximum Discount Qty: 1

BuyX
Number: 1
Type: Product
Mode: Exclude
Free Product Selected

GetY
Automatically add to cart 'Get Y' product: YES
Number: 1
Type: Product
Mode: Include
Free Product Selected

The other settings have been left by default.

Hello,

Is the total price of Buy X product(s) + Buy Y product over 39.90? If so this is why the coupon is still in the cart. If you want the minimum order total to only take into account Buy X products, then set its dropdown from "Overall" to "Specific"

Thanks Seyi, solved. I thought that the "Specific" function was used to apply the coupon only if the total of the cart is "exactly" 39.90
