Discount Code Removed After Checkout

Hi I am getting a large amount of customers who enter a coupon code during checkout and then its removed in the final order, they claim they enter the discount code and verify the amount is discounted but then after completing the order the discount code is removed. I haven't been able to replicate the issues, but it's happened so many times I believe it's a bug. All of the coupon codes having issues are one time per customer and all these are new customers.

Are you using a one page chceckout extension? Did this problem only start with version 2.3.5?

Yes I am using VirtuePlanet One Page Checkout. I am not sure if it was with the previous version as well but I have begun to notice it more now with 2.3.5, it has got to the point where I have multiple customers emailing me everyday saying that the discount was applied during checkout but was then removed in the final order confirmation. Then I look back at theirs orders and notice the discount code had already been used so should gave them an error message.
