Gift certificates usage

Hi,

I've tried to find info about this but i couldn't find. When a user buy a 40$ gift certificate and he spends 25$, does de certificate still works for the rest of 15$. Is this reflected is his coupon list?

The gift certificate does not show on the coupon list of a user since it cannot be assigned to a specific user.
