How to import codes for gift certificate products?

How does the new feature work? Is it possible to sell gift certificates on one site that are valid on another site?

it is not. you would need some type of plugin customization to create the gift certificates in the other web site.

oh ok, instead of having an automatically generated code after the purchase of a gift certificate, you can upload codes that will be used instead. To do this you would first create the gift certificate product in awocoupon->gift certificate->gift certificate products and then go to awocoupon->gift certificate->codes to upload the codes for that product. The upload uses a csv file to import.

Okay, let me try that. GoDaddy is running a bit slow today. We may need to change hosts.

So can I also manually create a coupon-gift certificate with the matching code on another site, so that the gift certificate could be used on that site? I thought I tried that and it was successful??

Everything is set up now on the new host. Your instructions worked for importing new gift certificate codes, and I was able to manually add the codes on another site. We just need to decide what type of gift certificate product to sell. Thanks for all your help with the licenses and setup! http://www.wefighthunger.org
