Can two coupons be used for one order?

Can two different coupons be applied to the same order?

For example - two different coupons which give (different) discounts on different manufactuers' products.

No, Virtuemart is built to accept one coupon only. I have toyed with the idea of parent coupons which would allow you to have multiple coupons under 1. But this can get very complicated. Maybe if there is enough demand i will look into it more.

I'd like to add my vote for some sort of multiple coupon scenario. What we're trying to do is create a coupon code that gives, say, 20% off a product AND free shipping. Right now that doesn't seem possible. It would be great if either you could create multiple coupons with the same code, or allow one coupon code to trigger a second coupon code.

I would buy this product today if you had this feature.

gift coupons use the same engine as regular coupons. So no they cannot.
