unique gift certificate codes on purchase

I need to be able to create a unique gift certificate code when someone buys a gift cert so that they're unique to the user. Does this already exist? If not can it be added? It's pointless to have a gift certificate if the customers can't buy one that is just for them. Thanks!

hi david, you can create gift certificates manually within awocoupon pro, but buying them in the front end is not within the scope of this component at the moment. this component is purely an administrative coupon system that allows you to create coupon codes that can be used within your virtuemart system. allowing users to buy gift certificates (a product) is a front end function.

I think you should team up with the guys at GW Coupons to make one kick ass system. You both lack features that each of you have. You need them to create unique gift codes and to email coupons when purchased, they need you to keep track of the amount left on the gift certificate and add expiration dates.

FYI, I'll be hacking the heck out of your system to incorporate GW and AWO together. I'll let you know if it works. If it does, I'll be happy to sell you the code. :)
