I have a client that also distrubutes products in a retail store as well as online. It would be nice to be able to cross-promote both distribution environments by allowing online customers to print out a coupon with a barcode to use in a retail store. The barcode maintains the coupon limits and restrictions.

The client has AWO Pro installed, might you consider this feature as as a small add-on?

this is an interesting idea that might be considered in the future. So if you need this now, you would need to find another solution. There is one question I do have. Where do the barcodes come frome? Is the value of the barcode a user input or autogenerated by AwoCoupon?

I had the same question. My assumption was that the code is a standardized format. This site https://www.bar-code.com/couponcodes.html explains it pretty well.

It seems like there could be a user interface that would allow data input and the module would generate the appropriate bar code for the coupon. The bar codes carry a lot of the same info that is already captured by AWO (e.g. discount, expiration, etc).

I'd love to beta test this or help provide input if you get ambitious about pursuing it.

This would be a great feature to add!

Seyi, I think you could integrate a free barcode generation tool that could do the barcodes. If barcodes could be uniquely keyed (like when Acymail codes are generated) that would be VERY useful for tracking the success of a campaign.

The QC barcodes can contain a lot of data, so if you were going to do this it would be wonderful if you could integrate a generator that supports them. (Example - http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ )

    Hello,

I see two uses for this and could really use this feature.

    1. Printed Ads
Users with mobile phones can scan QR Codes that take them directly to the coupon or gift certificate page. The QR Codes could be used in print ads and promotions. This could be done without AWO but would be nice if AWO generated the code based on the coupon or gift certificate.

    2. Coupon and Gift Certificate Redemption
If they sign up for the coupon or buy a gift certificate then they could receive a unique QR Code to redeem the coupon or gift certificate. This QR Code would be scanned by the store to easily find the client in the system and mark the coupon as used. I guess the QR Code in this case would have the users email/login and the coupon code.

We would need a search form for userid and coupon/gift code. The scanned QR Code would populate the fields and the store employee could easily find the customer for redemption.

This would be auto generated by AWO.

http://zxing.appspot.com/generator/ This is an example generator.

I would also really appreciate this as I would like to email coupons that customers can bring into a retail store.

As for this topic, I have experience of doing this. At that time, the barcode generators that I used were as follows:
    http://www.onbarcode.com/products/net_barcode/barcodes/qrcode.html
    http://www.onbarcode.com/asp_net/qr-code-generator.html
