Can you explain what your coupon is supposed to do and how you set it up?

it is for the gift certificate, I can purchase multiple products with one code. Users can purchase more than one product with the same gift certificate code.

Gift certificates will work for multiple products by default, unless you restricted it when creating the coupon code. It should also work until the total value is fully used up. Once that is reached then it becomes invalid. If this is what you are having problems, then your history might not be getting recorded if you are using virtuemart 2.0.26.
