Setting X for Y to a minimum spend not a product purchase

I have set up an X for Y coupon that adds a free gift coupon to any order where the promo code is entered. It works almost perfectly, but it adds one free gift cert for every product added to the basket, instead of one per basket.


I can't find a way to limit the X for Y to one gift certifcate for an order rather than one gift cert for each product. If I can use a minimum value e.g. spend >£nn + coupon code triggers a free gift cert that would do it but I can't see how to do that.
