Send gift certificate to a friend

is there a way where the client can send the gift certificate directly to a friend when he buys one? there should be something to mail it directly.

The only way the recipient can be emailed directly through your system is if you set up the custom field where the customer can fill in the receiver email address. You can find this information here:
