Questions Before Purchase....

    Hi,

    I may have to purchase the PRO version depending on what my client wants. I've never used either versions so I'm not sure how or if these are possible.

    1. Does the user have to create an account in order to use the "customer specific discount" option.

    2. My client wants to offer a coupon code for ONLY the first purchase that each customer makes. Please let me know how this would be done if possible?

    2. She's also enquiring about a report of the coupons to see how/if they are used and I noticed that your component provides that. How would she get the report as she would not want to login to the system to do so. Could it be emailed to her?

    Hi,

    I will address each question seperately:

    1) Yes the user has to create an account. I am not sure how else you could make a customer specific coupon without it. Free and Pro versions.
    2) You can get close with both Free and Pro version. You could create a coupon that each new customer can use just once. To setup, you would create a coupon of type 'coupon' with the number of uses set to 1.
    3) Reports are pro version only. You can view within the system reports on the history of uses, but no, there is no option for emailing.

    Do I need community builder to have the users register for an account or will virtuemart do the job ok? Which do you suggest is better to use?

    The customers need to register for an account, it does not really matter if it is joomla default, community builder, or virtuemart. If it is not through virtuemart, eventually, they would still have to fill out the virtuemart information anyway. So it is probably best to have them register through virtuemart.

    Lastly, all reports are exportable to excel. So yes, it can be easily exported and sent to the customer.
