How do I set a coupon's maximum discount in dollars?

Is there a way to limit the maximum amount of dollars off for a particular coupon?

For example, I have a save 10% coupon for my website. However, some items cost several thousand dollars and 10% off would eat most of my profit on these items. I would like to use a coupon for a 10% discount up to $100 off any order (one time use for each visitor).

Is this possible and how can I do it?

There is no option to limit the discount. I can give you code to do this if you like, but doing that will limit all your coupons to what you specify. Is that ok?
