Gift Certificate usage not being recorded - VM 2.0.26d

I have version 2.2.6 pro installed on a site but it is not working properly. I created a gift certificate and made a purchase with it. The order value was less than the gift certificate value. However when I go to the History of Uses option for gift certificates there are no orders appearing.

I read the sticky for VM 2.0.26 in detail and saw that it affects gift certificates too. After implementing the suggested code fix the problem I reported has been resolved.
