Can't enter additional coupons with auto coupon enabled

I have 2 automatic coupons set to give various discounts at different quantities and half price shipping. These are working just fine.

However, I want the customer to be able to pay with a gift certificate or to enter another coupon for more savings. After automatic discounts are applied in the cart, there is no box to enter another coupon code or gift certificate. I try to delete the automatic discount, but it keeps re-applying it and does not allow any more codes.

I have the AWO control panel set for:

Enable Multiple Coupons YES
Max 7 All
2 Automatic Discounts
2 Gift Certificates
3 Coupons

I tested by unpublishing the automatic coupons, but it only allows me to enter 1 coupon code in the cart.

You can edit the view of Hikashop to keep the coupon box open. Here is how to do it:
