Multilanguage Capabilities?

Hi seyi,

Noticed that the affiliate plugin only supports English language, is this correct? We have many affiliates from various countries and our Joomla/VM2 installation is purely multilanguage but the frontend is always in English, regardless the user's language. Also the emails to be sent to affiliates can only be written in one language (English by default)!

This is a major issue for us and a basic functionality, is there anything that can be done? Maybe we are missing something?

Hi Chris,

Yes, the affiliate program only has be default the English language. If you would like to add more languages, then you would have to make translations to the language file.

For the emails, yes, there is only support for one email that can be sent. Making it multi lingual, would require a fundamental change in the way the data is stored and configured. I will add it to the list of things to look at for future updates.

Noted that in the latest version of awoaffiliate and coupon pro, there is the capability to send multilanguage emails as per changelog, however we cannot find this feature after updating. I have noticed a joomfish plugin option in the config but we don't have joomfish (and don't want to,it is unecessary for joomla 2.5 installations)

Hello Chris,

It works almost like Virtuemart multi language.

In configuration, you will find a world icon next to each item that is setup to have multiple languages. In order to use, simply change the language in admin. So for example you want to setup Coupon payout email for buth English and French:
- make sure you have both languages installed in your admin section
- set your admin language to English
- go to AwoAffiliate->configuration, type out your English email and save
- go to extensions->languages and change your default 'Admin' language to French
- go to AwoAffiliate->configuration, type out your French email and save
