Help wanted with rules, i don't get it

I can't get it to work and the online help isn't getting me any further. I have a lot off question but when there are more exercises how to work with coupons at least i get a lot further.

But the main question.
I want to set up a coupon that do the following

A customer buy product a and when he bought 3 or more off that product het gets an 50% discount on that product with a maximum of 4 products.

Is that possible?

So you want to the customer to buy 3 and get the 4th product for 50% off?

The Buy One Get One Half Price example should get you there:

One change, you would need to set the Buy X number to 3. Apart from that it should be the same. Also keep in mind the customer has to enter all 4 products into the cart to get the 50% off the 4th.

One other thing you can do is go to awocoupon->configuration->error message tab and change the errors to something identifiable, so when it fails on the front end you can see why.
