I've just ran into a problem when I added some products using CVSI Virtueamart and my Gift Certificate Products are at last few lines in CSV. So during import their product_id has been changed because there were some additions before those products and GCP were suddenly a totally different products.
So I suggest it could be better to bind those products in database with their product_sku which won't be ever changed.
