Shipping COUPON never works. regular coupon does

I have tried every possible settings backend. But shipping coupons never deduct a % or an amount on the total amount of shipping freight i have on my checkout screen

Template : Reviver
Checkout system : Cmsmart
VM 3

AWoCouponPro settings

Coupon Code : SHIPTRY
published : published
perfect or amount : amount
discount type : overall
value 1000

the thing is, regular coupons works. I just dont get it why only the shipping coupon does not. Am I missing something?

I am using OpenTools Advance shipping rules for virtuemart.

If so then it should work. When creating the coupon you are selecting 'shipping'? Have you tried going to awocoupon->configuration->error message screen and setting debug mode and saving, then trying it in the front end to see exactly why it is failing?
