Free shipping setup confusing/unfinished?

    Hi.

    I'm using the following: Joomla! 2.5.7 and VirtueMart 2.0.10.

    I'm finding the FREE SHIPPING COUPON set up very confusing. What I expected when I purchased this component was a coupon generator that would do the following:

    Create new coupon to apply free shipping to specified products if in cart, but it has not worked once? I have a FedEx shipment plugin that calculates the shipment rate based on the product weights in the cart and also the vendor address to the buyer address. These factors will ultimately produce a price which is not fixed for any one shopper. When I apply the coupon, rather than dropping the price to zero, it tries to discount 0 (-0)??? So the final price still includes the original shipment cost and a coupon discount of 0.

    I'm trying to set up a promotion to allow free shipping if the coupon is used. So far nothing is working?

    Hello,

    What are the details of the coupon code you setup? For free shipping, did you set the value to 100%?

    Yes I tried that too, but it still didn't work

    - Published: Published
    - Percent or Amount: Percent
    - Discount Type: Overall (I also tried Specific)
    - Value: 100.00000

    Optional Fields
    - Nothing set

    - None selected

    Shipping
    - Fedex (Include)

    Product
    - 6 (include)

    I thought I was also able to create coupon based on country codes too? For example I only want the coupons to work only if the products are being shipped within the USA.

    Ok, ran some tests using Joomla 2.5, Virtuemart 2.0.10, AwoCoupon 2.1.1 and your coupon setup and it is working fine for me. I used the standard shipping since I do not have fedex. As long as the customer adds 1 or more of the 6 products to the cart and selected the shipping you specified in the coupon, they should receive the discount. Can you verify this is the case? Do you receive an error message after entering the coupon code? Go to awocoupon->configuration->error messages and change the messages to something more identifiable so you know where it is failing. Also verify that the awocoupon plugin is enabled. And last, I have seen some templates not show the discount line, so look at the total and verify it is not taken into account.

    As for countries, no there is no options for this. Did you read this feature was included on this site? If so where?

    Ok so I tried again and this time it works. However I have noticed something odd... if I apply a coupon for the free shipping (-100%) then select a shipping method it works as expected. BUT then if I change the shipment method where the price has changed, the coupon discount is not recalculated. Perhaps this is what my initial problem was.

    It also doesn't work for me if I have other products that is not in the list in my cart. The FedEx plugin calculates the price on total product items that is in the cart. I'm not sure how your plugin bypasses this when it tries to calculate the coupon discount.

    In regards to the country option, I think it was just my assumption as I thought it would be something that should be supported. Do you know of a hack that would make this work? It's vital for my client.

    Im not getting this error. Changing the shipping method recalculates the discount amount. maybe you can send me details of how to produce the error by private message so i can see for myself.

    for shipping coupon, if you have selected products and the discount type is overall, you will receive the discount if one or more of the products you have chosen is in the cart. If you set the discount type to specific, you will receive the discount ONLY if one or more of the products you have chosen is in the cart. So verify your discount type is overall.

    There is no hack for country, it requires alot of customization.
