coupons not working when changing shoppergroup

Strange..
Coupons are working fine, but when I change thecustumer group in vm the same coupon is not working (does not excist)

The coupon is of type parrent, not connected to a user, i mailed the code to the customer
The childs are also not connected to a user, but all to a categorie

Hope you can help
